Patchwork Delight!

Things have been slightly busy with work and lot of Aryan time. Yeah....playschool is holiday for summer vacation im trying my best to keep him occupied. last week my husband's cousin came down we took a trip to children park.  It was just amazing with perfect summer weather.

This is one of our favourite place Beach, we had lot of fun time in water.  My son is riding horse...(kidding) He was excited he wanted to ride the horse.  This horse was well trained and calm, so he had a nice horse walk.

Finally i got chance to finish with the Patchwork delight.  I have so many fabric and new pattern sitting right next to me and but just cant help it, im yet to start sewing.  The good news is that my new pattern "Ayna bag" was big hit and all got sold out.  I will be posting them soon with few more collection.

This Patchwork delight is a drawstring pouch made using medium weight fabrics, mixed with lovely colour and print. I really love the style , this can fit toys, cosmetic, camera&charger etc.  Draws closed with beautiful satin ribbon tied off with beads .   All over design is pretty easy to put it together.  It took me 30mins so made four of them.

I will be soon back with my Ayna bag.

Pencil Drawing

Aah!  this is being pending for long to post.  Did you know drawing can be fun and its nice hobby.  My mother, sisters all loved to draw.  My mom used to paint on our dress, she is awesome artist. And my hubby, he is amazing artist too, he didn't go for classes. But every piece he makes is unique.  He gave me his first masterpiece when we were dating.

How romantic to receive a beautiful pencil work like this.   Although its just black and white i always wonder how amazing and expressive they are.

He made this pencil drawing recently, very unique capturing the expression of eyes, eyebrow and lip lines.

My little star Aryan is actually holding the pencil accurately.  This summer activity includes pencil drawing for arya.  Kids love drawing.

So what are you waiting for? Get your pencil, paint and have fun...

Finished with Fulki bag

Have I shown my new bag to you yet. I finish this bag end of March, believe it or not the red bag was sold out in no time. I named it 'Fulki' mean spark I was attracted by the shape of the clutch which i gave to my friend.  So i made the frontal pocket of clutch shape. It gives a unique look...

Fulki bag is  a classic ladies like bag. It's roomy to keep everything in place(depth of 3" height 15" x 14"). Frontal pocket is with magnetic closure and back pocket with zipper.
Though the pattern is so simple yet its stylish to carry for this summer.  Lining is 100% cotton with magnetic snap for closure and two pocket for small gadgets...

I made one more of lavender with red polka dots.  Since I'm being on holiday for last few weeks, I'm working to have these bags all wrapped up by today. And  hoping to get it ready for sale starting on Monday.

Vishu Ashamsakal (Happy New year)

Vishu is our traditional malayalam new year.

Our Vishukkani, is the most important thing for Vishu. Kani is symbol of good luck,so it is prepared with lot of care by the eldest person of the family.  An auspicious kani is the first sight on the vishu day and the belief is that this brings luck and prosperous for the entire year.

Konna (Cassia fistula), is a popular vishukanni
We found Konna(vishu flower - kerala region flower ) on our way from bangalore to chennai.  Last weekend we had a beauty trip to bangalore driving in car.  I remember our last visit was 6years back.  We went to aunt place after our wedding, so it was dinner treat served with oyster, crab, fish, chicken etc. After a wonderful dinner we hurried to station to catch the train to hubli,  we almost missed our train to hubli,  we jumped into running train hahha....that was unforgetable experience.

Arya always love carrying him on the shoulder. He had great fun time with my cousins.

Shiva mandir in Kemp fort
The shiva status is 65ft height located in kempfort. The status looks bright in the night.
The famous Glass house of Lal bagh (240 acre botanical garden).  I wish I had small house near lalbagh, so i will not miss the yearly flower show...

Kempe Gowda
My son made me run all behind him, he was chasing the crow............hahha.

Stay-tuned i will come back soon with some sewing ,im really missing it now..
